Let me say this the newest version of ccleaner stopped working correctly for me. I used the workarounds where you untick the box and also the new chrome has a pause feature on it, I did those two things and chrome cleared with no problem. It does not delete the download history visible in the browser, but a database that logs certain downloads. I am using windows 8.1 and chrome was not closing for me when I ran ccleaner. I have scoured the web for solutions but none work.

This entry has been given a somewhat misleading name by its creator. Since the most recent update was downloaded (v), the hitherto excellent CCleaner has been skipping Chrome, e.g. /rebates/2fccleaner2fbrowser&.
